Man dies after serious M5 crash at junction 4a

The guy was pronounced deceased at the scene of an incident involving a van and HGV at J4A (M42), southbound on the M5, at 8.15pm yesterday.

The van’s driver was this man.

A representative for West Midlands Ambulance Service stated: “We discovered a man who was the van’s driver when we arrived.

“When he was evaluated, his condition was critical. Ambulance personnel at the site provided advanced life support to the man.

“Unfortunately, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

At the scene were two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a critical care paramedic and trauma doctor from MERIT, two emergency physicians from BASICS, and the Midland Air Ambulance Critical Care Car.

No further patients needed to be treated by ambulance personnel.

“We were called to a two-vehicle collision involving a lorry and a van on the M5 northbound between junction 4A to junction 4 about 8.30pm yesterday evening,” a West Mercia Police spokeswoman stated.

“A man in his 40s was tragically declared dead at the spot. The kin have been notified.”

There are still delays of sixty minutes on the road.
