Rangers enjoying excellent summer
In order to improve their chances of winning the Scottish Premiership this season, Philippe Clement knew that new players would need to be added during the summer transfer window. It’s safe to say that the manager of the Gers isn’t playing around.
Rangers have now completed nine signings overall; earlier this week, Robin Propper from FC Twente became the most recent addition. The 30-year-old, who captained his previous team for three years, brings a wealth of experience to the team.
In other news, Hamza Igamane, who joined from FAR Rabat, also cost money, while Mohamed Diomande, who had been on loan at Ibrox the previous season, has completed a permanent move. Additionally, free agents Liam Kelly and Connor Barron have been signed.
There have both other rumoured targets for Rangers between now and the end of the window, though, with Marco van Ginkel one player who Clement is thought to be trying hard to snap up. The 31-year-old is an experienced head, having once played for Chelsea, while a player at the other end of his career, Hannibal Mejbri, is wanted from Manchester United.
Rangers keen on signing “great finisher”
Witcoop revealed on X that the Rangers are still considering signing Tyrese Campbell, a free agent, this summer, but they are not the only team considering this option.
Campbell, who left Stoke City at the end of the previous season after six years there, could prove to be a very wise addition by the Gers in the upcoming weeks.
The 24-year-old still has a lot to contribute at a certain level, and his 57 goal contributions—36 goals and 21 assists—in 164 games for his previous team demonstrate remarkable levels of consistency in terms of final product.
Campbell has been highly thought of for some time now, initially playing for Manchester City at youth team level, scoring 27 times in just 45 games in Premier League 2. He was once hailed by former Stoke manager Michael O’Neill, too, who said of him:
