A man has died after a road traffic collision on the A60 where five other people were injured after two cars collided at the junction with Broad Lane, near Hodthorpe, shortly before 5.20pm on Sunday.
The 29-year-old victim passed away in a hospital after being removed from the site by ambulance.
Officers are asking any further witnesses to come forward as part of an ongoing investigation into what happened.
“We are working hard to understand exactly what happened,” stated Roads Policing and Serious Collision Investigation Unit Detective Inspector Kate Savage. “This was a tragic incident.”We would like to meet with any witnesses who have not yet come forward in addition to the ones we have previously spoken to.
“We will continue to give the victim’s family the support they require during this extremely trying time as our investigation progresses.”
