Hull KR to put all else aside and go all out

Six more games and Hull KR will make history. It’s that easy these days. Win them all, and they’ll have the major cutlery they’ve always wanted. It seems easy enough, doesn’t it?

False. They will have to learn this the hard way because they have some really difficult games coming up. To be honest, though, everyone would have given their all for this job, and Rovers will undoubtedly rise to the challenge of holding the reins of history. They portray Catalans, who are especially unpredictable. For the past few months, they have been incredibly unpredictable, which makes them dangerous as well. With several key players back, including Mike McMeeken, but without Sam Tomkins, who knows what to expect from them? They also pose a bit of a threat to Rovers.

But there’s something about the Robins right now, and I believe they’ll manage.

Prediction: Rovers by 4

Six weeks later, the Robins are unquestionably first; the question is how long they can maintain a challenge up there. Hull KR entered the final game against Catalans Dragons hoping to force their way into the top two, but they lost narrowly. Their current run-in appears to be the most difficult of all the League Leaders’ Shield contenders, but 16 wins out of 21 rounds and a run of five wins in a row are not anomalies.

With away trips to St Helens and Wigan coming up, Catalans’ matchup against a fellow current top-five team at Magic is their first encounter of that kind, so I believe they must win if they hope to continue this exciting challenge. And if they put in the necessary effort, they seem more than capable of accomplishing that. After defeating Rovers six weeks prior, Catalans have triumphed at home against Salford and Hull FC. However, their results away from France have been disappointing, as they have suffered crushing defeats to Castleford and London. Their most recent victory came against Huddersfield. Based on the teams’ recent performance and the players who are expected to play, I believe Rovers should win this match.

Prediction: Rovers by 10
