Road closed as motorcyclist dies in Chester crash

CHESTER, CT (WFSB) – A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash in Chester early Monday morning.

State police identified the victim as 27-year-old Sean Francis Guiheen of Killingworth.

Trooper said the crash closed Route 148 around 7:15 a.m.

They said the rider headed west on West Main Street and veered into the eastbound lane while he negotiated a curve.

Guiheen struck a metal beam guardrail and was ejected from the motorcycle.

He was transported to Middlesex Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the state Department of Transportation, West Main Street was shut down in both directions due to the crash, but it has since been reopened.
