Southampton agrees deal to sign attacker

While the future of attacker Paul Onuachu is still up in the air, Saints are poised to sell Carlos Alcaraz to Flamengo in Brazil.
Russell Martin is eager to conclude more deals before the transfer market shuts, and he has his sights set on South America as a potential location.
Alberto, a forward for Corinthians, is desired by Southampton, who has previously had one bid for him turned down.
In 38 games this season for Corinthians, Alberto has scored 17 goals, despite having an injury disrupt his career.

The Brazilian performed in Europe previously while he was a player for Russian powerhouse Zenit St Petersburg.
Southampton is “remaining determined” to ensure that Alberto is at St Mary’s when the transfer window closes, even though their bid was unsuccessful.

He was capped at senior level by Brazil last year and also played for the country’s Under-17s and Under-23s.
