Tranmere Rovers seals deal to perfect transfer window closure

Goalkeeper Reuben Egan and midfielder Saidou Khan, who was signed by Tranmere on a season-long loan from Swindon Town, completed the club’s transfer window business.

Khan, a 28-year-old international Gambian, played for Chesterfield and Maidstone United before joining Swindon in 2022.

“It just feels like you’re in a family club, and that’s what it’s about,” he said after joining Rovers.

“I think it’s the right place to do that, and I want to be in an environment where I feel like I can grow as a player and as a person.”

“We are pleased to add the influential midfield player Saidou Khan to our close squad of hard-working players,” manager Nigel Adkins continued.

Reuben Egan, the custodian, is also moving to Prenton Park for a one-year contract.

Egan, 19, joins after stints with Irish teams Athlone Town and Galway.

This season, the Irishman will work under goalkeeper coach and player Joe Murphy, covering Luke McGee.

Adkins expressed his happiness, saying, “We are happy to have signed young custodian Reuben Egan, who has impressed us all with his training since preseason.”

“We’re excited to watch his growth over the upcoming season under Joe Murphy’s tutelage.

Egan continued, “It’s amazing, I’m delighted to be here,” after signing with Rovers. With me, Nigel Adkins has been excellent. I’m hoping to gain more experience, become more involved, and finish the season strong.
