Young Motorcyclist dies after crash in Newbury

WHDH, NEWBURY, MASS. – After colliding with a median cable barrier on I-95 in Newbury on Sunday, a motorcycle rider passed away, according to state police.

The collision occurred on the southbound side of I-95 close to Exit 83 just after 7 a.m.

Troops reacted, according to state police, and performed CPR until firefighters could arrive.

After being taken by emergency personnel to Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, the rider was declared deceased.
While the inquiry was ongoing, two lanes of traffic in the region were closed, according to state police. By ten a.m., regular traffic was back on.

The collision is still being looked into.

The Newbury Fire Department reported in an update on Wednesday afternoon that it looked like the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the collision.
