Hull FC confirm list of departing players as 14 set for end-of-season exits

Hull FC have confirmed the end-of-season departures of 14 players

Ten first-team players will left Hull FC at the conclusion of the 2024 season, the club has confirmed. The four current loan players will return to their parent clubs, the club has already confirmed.

Danny Houghton will complete his 18-year career at Hull FC at the end of the year by retiring from professional rugby league, as was announced last month. The hooker, who leaves as the third-highest appearance maker in club history, will depart.

Hull FC centre Liam Sutcliffe.
Additionally, as was revealed last week, Carlos Tuimavave, the champion of the Challenge Cup twice in a row, would also be leaving. As was announced last month, Jake Trueman will also be moving on, as the half-back will be joining Wakefield Trinity as soon as Hull’s season ends.

As first reported by Hull Live, Liam Sutcliffe will leave the club one year before his contract expires, with the centre joining Huddersfield Giants. Miteli Vulikijapani will also depart, while young forward Charlie Severs will take some time out of the game after consecutive shoulder injuries.

A quartet of young first-team squad members, Sully Medforth, Lennon Bursell, Jeylan Hodgson, and Mackenzie Harman, will also depart the club. Loan forwards Tiaki Chan, King Vuniyayawa, Leon Ruan, and Sam Eseh will all return to their parent clubs.

Hull FC said in a statement: “The club would like to thank all of their departing players for their efforts, and wish them all well for their futures—their names will proudly sit upon our heritage board forevermore. The club would also like to place on record their thanks to players who have already departed during the 2024 campaign: Tex Hoy, Darnell McIntosh, Fa’amanu Brown, Franklin Pele, Jayden Okunbor, Joe Cator, Cam Scott, Jack Brown, and Damel Diakhate.”
