Man died after ghastly car crash in Huddersfield

Curtis , 24, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene of the crash

After causing the death of one of his passengers in a road accident in Kirklees, a motorist has been imprisoned.

Kyle Wright, 27, entered a guilty plea to charges of reckless driving and dangerous driving on Friday and was given a sentence of three years and ten months at Leeds Crown Court. Wright, of Longwood Gate in Huddersfield, was driving a Hyundai Terracan carrying five passengers when he lost control of the vehicle

on the A58 Whitehall Road in Cleckheaton. About five in the morning on Saturday, it veered off the road and landed in a field as it headed toward the Chain Bar roundabout. Cowardly Wright then ran away from the scene, leaving one of his passengers, Bradford native Curtis Dominik, who was only 24 years old, to perish there. The other four people in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
“Curtis was a kind-hearted, mischievous, larger-than-life young lad who lost his life at only 24 years old,” his family stated in a tribute to him. A family that loved him more than he may ever know took him away. We all miss him terribly every single day.
Wright was also given a five-year, eight-month driving ban and has to pass a longer test before he is allowed to drive once more. “After losing control of his vehicle, Wright fled the scene,” stated Major Collision and Enquiry Team Detective Constable Debbie Farley. Later on in the day, he was arrested.
