Unspeakable tragedy as five people die after horror crash in Prescot

Five families are having to come to terms with the prospect of a life without their loved ones

A week of tragedies on Merseyside’s roads has claimed five lives after a string of horrific collisions left residents in shock.

Several charity pages have been established to assist the bereaved as grieving families have paid respect to their loved ones who were killed.

Responding to several fatal crashes has also presented a demanding week for emergency services personnel.
When Owen Baugh died in a motorcycle accident on the M62, he was only 23 years old.

On Sunday, September 23, the “true gentleman” was taken to the hospital but was declared dead shortly after.

Early on Sunday morning, Owen was riding his motorcycle on the Huyton motorway when he collided with a black Audi A4.

The driver of the car, a 36-year-old man, remains in hospital and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Paying tribute to Owen, his family described him as a “kind hearted” person with a “unique personality” which “filled any room he walked” into.
