Huge heart ache for Blackburn Rovers boss

Todd Cantwell, Joe Rankin-Costello, and Amario Cozier-Duberry are “thoughts” to start after making their debuts over the weekend, according to Blackburn Rovers manager John Eustace.
On Saturday afternoon, Blackburn Rovers started all three against Plymouth Argyle. At Home Park, they lost 2-1.

Nevertheless, the three impressed their manager and were able to leave an impression on the pitch when they were substituted.

He said after the game, as per a report by the Lancashire Telegraph: “Yeah they did (do well), they’ve put themselves in my thoughts. I think we had a game plan of how we wanted to play. Plymouth play a very expansive way of football and they’re very good at it. I thought we limited them in the first half, we won the ball back on a number of occasions in their half.

“We didn’t look after the ball well enough. They had a few good breaks after half-time and Aynsley (Pears) made a few good saves. We were always going to make the changes on 60 minutes. They were very positive changes and I felt it gave us a foothold in the game. I felt from there we could go on and win. We missed that bit of quality and we have to work on that in the international break.”

Blackburn Rovers boss impressed by substitutes

Cantwell’s minutes are still being cautiously managed by Blackburn Rovers.

The former Norwich City player was brought in to give their ranks more quality, and he is still getting up to speed.

Rankin-Costello is a versatile player who the Lancashire team would benefit from having in their ranks.

The man from Stockport was born and has represented the team in more than 100 games.

The 19-year-old Cozier-Duberry, who is on loan from Arsenal, offers Eustace’s team a unique wing option.

He was cleared to temporarily depart from the Gunners in order to gain additional experience.

What now?

Although Blackburn Rovers’ loss to Plymouth Argyle will disappoint them, all is not lost.

They are ranked ninth in the table and have had a respectable start to the campaign.

Following the international break, they host Swansea City in their next match.
