Major Belfast road closed after ghastly crash

Bangor Road is closed following an accident.
A road traffic collision has caused Bangor’s Bloomfield Road to be closed to traffic in both directions.
Gransha Road, Sunningdale Road, and Bloomfield Road South have all been designated as diversion routes.
If at all possible, drivers should look for an alternate route.

A collapsed manhole has caused an emergency double lane closure on Garmoyle Street this morning.
Traffic heading into the city is experiencing delays on Whitla Street and Duncrue Street as a result.

Update on six-vehicle crashes
The multi-vehicle incident on the M5 has drawn the attention of emergency services.

Six cars collide on Belfast’s highway
The M5 in north Belfast has been closed due to a six-vehicle collision between Rushpark and Greencastle.
The northbound M2 is still open.

Closure of Sydenham Bypass
The A2 Sydenham Bypass in east Belfast is reduced to one lane from Victoria Park to beyond Belfast City Airport due to road construction. The closure extends from Tillysburn Junction to Dee Street.
Road users are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys, as delays are anticipated.
As per the schedule, the closure will remain in effect over the weekend until 6 a.m. on Monday.
