A MOTORCYCLIST has tragically died after a crash which saw the Dartford Crossing shut for nine hours.
Following a collision on the M25 yesterday afternoon in both directions from junction 1B A296 Princes Road (Dartford) to junction 2 A2 (Darenth Interchange), a portion of the crossing was closed, with traffic extending back past Lakeside in south Essex.
At 2:32 pm, Kent Police received a call regarding a significant motorbike crash on the A282’s clockwise carriageway.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, tragically passed away at the site despite the efforts of the officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service.
Kent Police stated that his nearest of kin was aware.
While the issue was being handled, the road was closed; it reopened at approximately 11:45 p.m.
