Glasgow Warriors another new deal

Sione Tuipulotu, the new captain of Scotland, expressed his satisfaction at being “relieved to be staying” following his three-year contract extension with Glasgow Warriors.

After joining in the summer of 2021, the centre, who was born in Australia, played a crucial role in Warriors’ journey to the United Rugby Championship championship last season.

The 27-year-old led Scotland to a 57-17 victory against Fiji on Saturday after being selected captain for the Autumn Nations Series.

Tuipulotu made his 27th international appearance after qualifying through his grandmother, who was born in Greenock.

He told the club website, “I’m relieved to be staying, and that’s my biggest emotion.”

“I’m thrilled to be able to put pen to paper since there’s always so much commotion surrounding while I’m negotiating a deal.

“I’m really content in Glasgow, and I’m eager to get started on some goals I need to do and want to accomplish in the next three years.

“All I want to do is keep moving this group forward. We all want more, and I’m eager to contribute to the return of more cutlery to Scotstoun.”
