What Dundee FC owners said after invest in Angus

Gin Bothy is owned by Bothy Trading, where Tim Keyes and John Nelms currently serve as directors.

The business that owns Dundee FC has made an investment in Gin Bothy, a distillery in Angus.

John Nelms and Tim Keyes, directors of Dark Blue Property Holdings, who own the Dee and the Camperdown location where the team intends to relocate, have joined the board of Bothy Trading, a beverage company.

Along with other US interests, their company owns shares in 71 Brewing, a brewery located in Dundee.

Neace Ventures, a Kentucky, USA-based venture capital firm, has joined them in their investment.

Louisville City FC, a US “soccer” team that competes in the USL Championship, America’s second division, is also owned by boss John Neace.

Gin Bothy’s US football investment
The company was founded nearly ten years ago by Kim Cameron, who began as a jam maker.

Her business now sells beverages all around the world, and it recently included gin in the Oscar goody bag given to Academy Award winners.

Kim told The Courier how the Dark Blues executives’ visit to Glamis for a sampling led to the deal.

“I knew what that support looked like at the time, and I knew I needed support, especially in the American market,” she said.

After they returned for a second meeting, we made the decision to move forward with this exciting new chapter.

Although it didn’t coincide with the US election, it appears to have worked out that way. We have been working through this since January and made the announcement this month.

We’ve already held a few board meetings, and I’ve travelled to the US to collaborate with John Neece and his group.

“This is really exciting because it gives us access to a new American team.”

American dreams

Expansion in to America is something Kim and Bothy Trading has been exploring for the last few years.

And working with American investors will give Bothy Trading and Gin Bothy greater access to a $450 billion market.

For a little more than two years, we have been trading in the United States. And for us, it is a great opportunity. However, it is too large for me to handle alone,” she continues.

“Gin Bothy currently sells in 23 states across the United States, but I am aware that in order to take full advantage of that opportunity, I will require assistance.”

It will be lot simpler for us to traverse that world with the assistance of Neece Ventures and the Dark Blue Property team.

John Neece is the owner of several US businesses. In addition to owning a brewery and bourbon distillery, he also owns a football team. For instance, this allows us to use first-fill bourbon barrels for next projects.

“He has a variety of hospitality businesses in the United States as well, and they contribute a great deal of experience.”

Although the investment amount is currently being kept under wraps, Kim stated that the company will make further announcements in the upcoming year.
