In the summer transfer window, Sheffield Wednesday loaned teenager Bailey Cadamarteri to League One hopefuls Lincoln City.
What to do with Bailey Cadamarteri was a major issue for Sheffield Wednesday and manager Danny Rohl this summer.
Rohl gave the 19-year-old his first-team debut last season. Cadamarteri went on to score four goals in 23 Championship appearances as the Owls avoided relegation.
Cadamarteri drew a lot of loan interest at Sheffield Wednesday throughout the summer. But Lincoln City eventually signed him on a season-long loan, and he’s thrived since.
The Owls academy graduate is the Imps’ leading scorer this season, with five goals in all competitions.
Lincoln City specialist Jamie Johnson recently spoke with Sheffield Wednesday News about Cadamarteri and whether he believes the striker will be ready for the Championship next season
Cadamarteri said ahead of the Imps’ long-distance journey to Exeter City this weekend: “I’m loving my time here so far.
“Obviously, I’ve come here to play games, come from the Championship, come to League One, come to play games, come to score a few goals for this club, so I feel like I’m doing so and staking a claim to play in this team.”
When asked about the level of play in League One vs the Championship, he replied, “It’s been good. Obviously, things have changed significantly, but I believe I am now at a different level in my career.
