The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore issued a notice that it is forbidden to “boondock,” or camp in an isolated area without access to electricity, water, or sewage. Five Sleeping Bear campgrounds are open until the fall, they reminded campers. Reservations for campgrounds are accepted from December 1 through May 15 up to six months in advance. Campsites are first come, first served outside of that season. (National Parks Service photo courtesy)The National Park Service
