Following a collision on Tuesday near Ballinluig Services on the A9 Inverness to Perth Road, emergency personnel were contacted.
A four-vehicle collision on the A9 in Perth and Kinross has resulted in the death of one man and the hospitalisation of three others.
Following the collision, emergency personnel were dispatched at approximately 8.15 a.m. on Tuesday to the A9 Inverness to Perth Road near Ballinluig Services.
A white Scania truck, a blue Ford Focus, a white Peugeot Bipper, and a Honda HRV were all involved in the incident.
At the scene, the 49-year-old driver of the Peugeot Bipper was declared deceased.
Three people were sent to Ninewells Hospital: the 66-year-old male driver of the Honda HRV, the 26-year-old male driver of the truck, and the 36-year-old female driver of the Ford Focus.
The road was closed for around ten hours to allow for investigations to be carried out.
The force is urging anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who passed away at this difficult time,” said Constable Mike Guild.
“We are still doing investigations to determine the complete facts, and I am urging anyone who saw the collision and hasn’t already contacted police to do so.
“I would also encourage anyone who was driving in this vicinity at the time and might have dash cam footage that could help us to get in touch with us.”
