West Ham United transfer news as Atletico Minerio defender wanted in January”

As they continue to look for a new left-back, West Ham United may formally express interest in Atletico Minerio defender Guilherme Arana during the January transfer window, according to 90Min.

According to the UK news source (October 14), the 26-year-old, who played for Brazil in their 1-1 draw against Venezuela at home, was being closely watched by the Hammers, who sent representatives to the Arena Pantanal.

The Brazilian left-back was being seen by representatives from Wolves and Brentford as well, but the Hammers have shown the greatest interest in the player, who has less than a year left on his Atletico Minerio deal.

In January, West Ham United is expected to make an attempt, and he is expected to have the support of his club should the Irons want to pursue him.

Cresswell’s departure in January?

In light of Arana’s stellar play for Minerio, Brazil seemed to have found the perfect answer after a protracted search for a long-term left-back option in their first squad.

With less than a year left on his contract, it appears that a January transfer is imminent, and the Hammers might be getting ready to make a play to steal him.

Arana, who is 26 years old, is undoubtedly entering the most important years of his career, therefore it’s surprising that the Hammers chose a pre-made profile over the eager and youthful player they spent so much time courting over the summer.

But to each their own, considering how much time the Irons have spent scouting Arana, he might be their first choice to take Aaron Cresswell’s place in January following an unsuccessful summer transfer.

Tim Steidten and David Moyes both have a genuine need for a left-back slot, but whether Arana is the best option to substantially improve that position is a different story.

Let’s see whether this interest becomes official in January.

In other West Ham news, an insider has disclosed information regarding the club’s intentions for the January transfer window as well as a high-profile signing for London Stadium who will play in a “alternate” role.
