Mike Williamson has stated that Terell Thomas, a defender for Carlisle United, will miss “eight to 10 weeks” due to a hamstring injury.
The return of players like Georgie Kelly, Aaron Hayden, and Dylan McGeouch, who made his debut game for Williamson’s Carlisle United against Doncaster Rovers, gave the Blues a boost.
Terell Thomas, a 29-year-old defender who was signed during the summer transfer window, injured his hamstring last week while playing for Saint Lucia on international duty, meaning Carlisle will be without him for at least two months.
Williamson disclosed the severity of the defender’s injury to the News & Star following the Blues’ goalless draw with the Rovers.
“I believe we’re looking at the eight to 10-week mark.
“It is disappointing but he is here and he wants to be around the boys and be involved in every area that he can but again we have got that strength in depth and hopefully he has a speedy recovery and comes back fitter and stronger.”
Ahead of Crewe Alexandra’s visit, Williamson provided encouraging reports on the recuperation of other Carlisle United players, including Harrison Biggins and Jordan Jones, despite the unsettling news regarding the length of Terell Thomas’ upcoming injury layoff.
“Touch wood no issues,” he remarked. We are hopeful that Biggo [Harrison Biggins] and Jordan [Jones] will be able to participate next week.
“We must wait and see how they develop this week, but we’re crossing our fingers I will have a lot of headaches next week.
