Tragedy as man confirm dead after three car collision in Beith

Emergency services were called to Beith Road at around 2am on Saturday, November 9, following reports of a one-car crash. Medics rushed a 53-year-old man to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

After a crash in Johnstone, a man’s car caught fire and he died.

On Saturday, at around two in the morning, emergency personnel were dispatched to Beith Road after receiving reports of a single-vehicle collision.
A 53-year-old male was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance. But a short while after, he was unfortunately declared dead.

It is understood his vehicle caught fire. The blaze was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The road, which was closed to allow police to carry out their investigation, reopened at around 7:50am. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 2am on Saturday, 9 November, officers attended a one-car crash on Beith Road in Johnstone.

“The Scottish Ambulance Service also attended and a 53-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he was pronounced dead. The car caught fire and it was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“The road was closed and re-opened around 7.50am. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
