Everton overtake Newcastle over Sheffield United academy graduate giants agreement

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, an Everton graduate of Sheffield United’s system, is reportedly being pursued by Newcastle United and AC Milan.
In the summer, the 27-year-old was strongly linked to leaving Everton, with Manchester United and Newcastle reportedly showing interest.

There have been ongoing rumours that the Magpies are interested in signing him in an attempt to lessen the impact of Alexander Isak leaving.

Serie A powerhouse AC Milan is also interested in luring Calvert-Lewin away from England for the first time in his career, according to TEAMtalk.

They are not the only foreign team to be associated with the frontman; Turkish team Besiktas has also reportedly expressed interest in him.

While Milan are believed to be keen, it is believed Everton are doing everything they can to tie Calvert-Lewin down to a new deal.

His current contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he could depart Merseyside on a free transfer.

After displaying promise as a teenager at Sheffield United, he first joined Everton in 2016 for an estimated £1.5 million.

Since then, the 27-year-old has made 259 appearances for the team, contributing 19 assists and 70 goals.
