Eustace praises Hull signing and sends Blackburn warning

John Eustace has commended Danny Batth for his significant contribution to Blackburn Rovers following Hayden Carter’s injury.

Initially brought in to fulfill a squad role and provide support within the dressing room, as noted by Eustace upon his signing, the 33-year-old has impressively started the last six league matches without any errors.

Batth’s experience, both on and off the field, has positively influenced his teammates and has been instrumental in Rovers achieving seven clean sheets in 17 matches. Considering he was signed on a free transfer and is earning a relatively modest salary, he has proven to be an excellent acquisition.

“We concluded last season with six clean sheets in ten matches, which was a remarkable accomplishment,” Eustace remarked regarding the team’s defensive efforts.

They conduct their lives in an exemplary manner, dedicating themselves tirelessly day after day. The level of professionalism they exhibit is evident, which explains their sustained success at a high level throughout their careers. “Danny may not have participated in every match at Norwich, but he was part of a top-tier team that reached the play-offs. His experience and skill have undoubtedly benefited his teammates. I believe he is improving with each game he plays.

“We adjusted the positions of the two centre-backs because different opponents present unique challenges. They can exploit specific weaknesses, so our strategy depends on the team we are facing.

“I believe both players are adept at playing on either side.” Rovers are set to visit Hull City this weekend, where an announcement regarding Ruben Selles as their new head coach is anticipated before the match begins. It remains uncertain whether the Spaniard or caretaker Andy Dawson will assume responsibility for the team. Eustace is cautious, recognizing that this change could provide a boost to the Tigers, who have not secured a victory in their last nine league matches, especially in front of their home supporters. “We have two challenging away fixtures ahead,” he remarked. “On Saturday, Andy Dawson has previously served as caretaker manager and has performed admirably, rallying the team effectively.

It will be a tough contest. “They possess considerable talent in their attacking lineup, so we are aware that it will be a demanding match. They finished seventh last season, indicating they are a strong team with many skilled players. “They have technically proficient players who can create issues during counterattacks and are effective in their build-up play. “At this point, our focus is solely on our own performance, irrespective of who leads their team. We are currently playing well and are eager for the upcoming match. “Whether they have a new manager or if Andy takes charge, it will be a challenging encounter, but one we are looking forward to. We approach the game with confidence, as our performances and recent results have been positive. “While we may not win every match, our confidence is certainly present.”
