Details and the reason after Bengals fire Marion Hobby

After a dismal 2024 season ended on Sunday, the Cincinnati Bengals are firing a number of its coaches.

Although the Bengals performed well in Week 18 by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers away from home, it was insufficient as the Denver Broncos destroyed the Kansas City Chiefs and secured the last AFC Playoff spot.

For the Bengals, that set off a series of firings. Among them was the defensive line coach, Marion Hobby. Lou Anarumo, the defensive coordinator, is also not going back to the Queen City.

Prior to joining the NFL in 2017, Hobby, a former third-round choice in the 1990 NFL Draft, began his coaching career in college.

Prior to spending a few seasons with the Miami Dolphins in 2019, he was the defensive line coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He has been with the Bengals since 2021.

Trey Hendrickson was one of the Bengals’ defensive line’s standout players. The Bengals ended 26th in the NFL in sack percentage (5.91%), though, thus the team as a whole fell well short of expectations. That needs to get better in the future.

Cincinnati’s defence was their glaring weakness, and now they will need to improve. However, how do you feel about Marion Hobby’s termination? Was it warranted, or should the responsibility be placed on the organization’s other issues?
