Sheffield United signs Rangers star player after contract talks

Sheffield United are interested in Rangers star Tom Lawrence, according to the Daily Mail.

The outlet reported on 18 January that the Blades are amongst a host of clubs that are monitoring the former Manchester United ace, who is out of contract in the summer.

The report claims that the Ibrox side have failed to agree new terms with the 31-year-old which has left the likes of Ipswich, Burnley and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Besiktas on alert. The Norwegian managed Lawrence in his time with the Red Devils reserves between 2008 and 2011 and could swoop for the former Derby ace this month.

Lawrence is expected to depart from the Rangers.
It appears that the veteran will be leaving Ibrox soon because the two parties have not been able to reach an agreement.
The only thing left to decide is whether he would leave the Govan club in the summer or January.

Instead of letting Lawrence walk away for free, the Gers should allow him to depart during the winter transfer window so they may collect a fee.
Since the league’s 2-1 loss to Aberdeen on October 30, he has not been included in a matchday roster.

Philippe Clement’s team would not suffer from an exit because the Bears have players like Ianis Hagi and Vaclav Cerny in his position.

The Red Devils are struggling, as Philippe Clement’s squad just defeated Fraserburgh 5-0 in the Scottish Cup on Sunday, January 19.

In the Daily Record on January 20, Jackson wrote: “Who knows? On Thursday nights, Rangers have a tendency to outperform their opponents. Additionally, Man United has struggled under new manager Rubin Amorim.

“It would be a fantastic outcome for the Ibrox men if Philippe Clement could return to the field with a point.”
