Special report: Nottingham Forest signs “remarkable” star after shocking incident

Nottingham Forest has now reportedly made a sizable bid to sign a Premier League forward, which could only help them get closer to qualifying for the Champions League.

Transfer news for Nottingham Forest
After moving into the top four of the Premier League, people in the Midlands are, understandably, acting with all the ambition in the world. They are in a stronger position than ever in the Premier League to aim for a certain caliber of players because they haven’t lost since the beginning of December. As a result of this ascent, Forest has already been associated with some notable figures, including Luiz Henrique and Alex Baena.

In an attempt to stave off any competition and guarantee the Villarreal midfielder’s arrival this month, reports have even gone so far as to claim that Forest has exercised the £50.7 million release clause in pursuit of Baena.

A team that is obviously keen to make sure that this season’s run is more than a passing fad and becomes a permanent fixture in England’s top division would make a strong statement with Baena’s arrival.
There are other players that the City Ground is apparently willing to spend a lot of money on besides the Villarreal player. The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Nottingham Forest has made a £22 million approach to acquire Brentford’s Yoane Wissa this month. Regarding the Bees are concerned though, they’ll have to do better than that to secure the forward’s signature.

It’s unclear if Forest will raise their offer to sign Wissa, but there’s no doubting how much of an impact he may have in the second half of the season. Personal terms may be easier to agree on than they otherwise would have been because the Brentford man also has the same agent as Morgan Gibbs-White.

“Remarkable” Wissa would make a fantastic addition.
It wouldn’t hurt to sign another forward in light of Taiwo Awoniyi’s uncertain future, particularly if Wissa is the one making the City Ground debut this month. Nuno Espirito Santo would probably have to switch systems to make room for a combination between the Congo and West Ham, but the 28-year-old might be an immediate improvement over the West Ham-affiliated Awoniyi.
