According to Turkish media, Sheffield United is still trying to finalise a deal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, an offensive midfielder for Besiktas.
The Championship team has once again expressed interest in the former Liverpool and Arenal player, who was linked to a move to Bramall Lane in the summer.
The 31-year-old Oxlade-Chamberlain is not in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans, according to a report published by Turkiye Gazetesi today on the most recent developments surrounding his future with Besiktas. After being named their new manager on Friday, the Norwegian is now trying to assemble his own team.
According to earlier rumours in Turkey, Besiktas intended to let him go because of his salary expenses and Super Lig international quotas.
Following that, Oxlade-Chamberlain’s representative is reportedly still in negotiations with Sheffield United in an attempt to find his client a new club. There were rumours last week that the Yorkshire team had started talks to sign the player.
However, given rumours that his representation is contacting other parties, the Blades should anticipate competition from other teams.
OxladeDespite making 30 appearances for Besiktas the previous season, Chamberlain has barely played this season.
His contract with the team expires in June 2026.
