Wycombe agree permanent deal to sign Portsmouth star

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Portsmouth goalkeeper Will Norris is scheduled to have a medical examination at Wycombe Wanderers on Monday, February 3, in preparation for a last-minute transfer.

Before the transfer deadline at 11 p.m., the 31-year-old is finalizing a permanent Adams Park swap.
The Austrian Nicolas Schmid took Norris’ place in goal for Portsmouth during the 2024–25 season.

The Watford native joined Pompey in 2023 and participated in every league game during their promotion to the Championship the previous season.

But this season, Norris has only made nine appearances for the south coast club in all competitions, giving up 20 goals and recording just two clean sheets.

He has been permitted to leave John Mousinho’s team’s matchday squad.

With 83 games in the third division, more than half of which came as Pompey won the league in the 2023–24 season, Norris is a seasoned player in League One.

Franco Ravizzoli, an Argentine goalkeeper who replaced Nathan Bishop early in the season, is Wycombe’s current first choice.

The Chairboys sit second in League One, while Portsmouth are 20th in the Championship.

Last week (January 29), Football Insider reported that Wycombe had rejected Luton’s most recent bid of up to £6 million for top scorer Richard Kone as they look to continue their promotion push.

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Liverpool winger Kaide Gordon has decided to spend the remainder of the season on loan at Portsmouth.

After playing little minutes in the first half of the season, the 20-year-old was recently called up from a loan at Norwich City.

The England Under-20 international has only made 10 appearances for Norwich in the Championship, but only one of those came from the starting lineup.

Gordon played no longer than 58 minutes in any one game, with the majority of his appearances being cameo roles.

In an attempt to acquire more playing time in the second half of the season, he is now expected to transfer to Fratton Park.

Gordon will be hoping to assist Portsmouth, who are currently in 20th place in the Championship and will be fighting for their lives until the end of the season.
Over his career, Gordon has made seven appearances for Liverpool’s first team. In 2022, he scored the team’s first FA Cup goal against Shrewsbury, making him the club’s youngest goal scorer.

Although the versatile forward is mostly a right winger, he can play anywhere around the front line.

Gordon isn’t the only prospect that the Reds are loaning out before the January transfer window slams shut.
