According to Soccernet.ng, Kelechi Iheanacho is thrilled about his new assignment at Middlesbrough but has not ruled out returning to Sevilla because he claims he has “unfinished business” with the Spanish team.
After a challenging stint at Sevilla, the Nigerian international signed a loan deal with Boro that would go until the end of the season. The former Leicester City forward has good memories of the team and is still open to the prospect of returning, despite his short stay in Andalusia.
However, he made it clear that Sevilla still holds a special place in his heart.
Iheanacho struggled for game time at Sevilla following the arrival of fellow Nigerian Akor Adams from Montpellier, as well as manager García Pimienta’s increased trust in Isaac Romero.
After seven years at Leicester City, the 28-year-old feels his English football experience can help him succeed in the Championship once more.

Michael Carrick, the manager of Middlesbrough, is certain that Iheanacho’s skill and background will be crucial as the team strives for promotion.
“We are thrilled to have Kelechi on board. His abilities are rather apparent, and he is aware of what it takes to succeed at this level after the previous year. He spent several years playing in the Premier League. We’re thrilled to have him, and he’s a tremendously good player,” Carrick told the Northern Echo.
Last summer, Iheanacho signed a two-year contract with a third-year option after joining Sevilla on a free transfer.
80% of his €2 million yearly pay will be paid by Middlesbrough, with extra bonuses in place if the team is promoted to the Premier League.
