Yeovil stabbings update after two boys arrested

Following the hospitalisation of two individuals with stab wounds, two teenage males were freed on conditional bail. Two people were stabbed on Wednesday, January 29, prompting the dispatch of emergency personnel to a residential area in Yeovil.

After the incident, two guys, ages 15 and 16, were taken into custody but were later released on conditional bail. “The investigation is still ongoing, and both of the arrested individuals have been released on conditional bail,” an Avon and Somerset Police spokeswoman stated.

“We continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with relevant footage and high-visibility neighbourhood patrols are ongoing.”

The 16-year-old was detained on suspicion of affray and possessing a bladed object in a public setting, while the 15-year-old was detained on suspicion of injuring with intent and affray.

Both a teenage boy and a man in his 50s were hospitalised after being stabbed. According to authorities, the male had severe but non-life-threatening or permanent injuries, while the kid was released with “superficial” injuries.

A cordon was placed at the intersection of Coronation Avenue and Stiby Road at the time of the event while an investigation was conducted. Police are urging anyone with information or CCTV footage to come forward as they continue their investigation into the incident.
