Nuno delivers Forest ‘reality’ verdict as Arsenal challenge set

Current Nottingham Forest news as the Reds get ready to play Arsenal at the City Ground under Nuno Espirito Santo

Nuno Espirito Santo, the head coach, maintains that Nottingham Forest’s recent success is not an anomaly but rather the “reality” of the Premier League.

Due to a run of inconsistent performances and outcomes, the Reds have only won two of their last six league games. Even though Sunday’s 4-3 loss to Newcastle United was their second consecutive road loss, they are still in third place in the standings.

Second-place Arsenal, who are also looking to recover from their defeat at the hands of West Ham United over the weekend, will be the next opponent at the City Ground. Nuno is looking for a response from his team and is keen to capitalise on home advantage.

The Portuguese responded, “This is the reality of the game,” when asked if Forest is experiencing a blip. You must acknowledge that we all experience ups and downs and that performing well isn’t always achievable.

“There are moments when your opponent is superior to you. You must acknowledge this and proceed. Now is the time to respond.

“We want to play well and try to improve on our performance from the previous games so that we have a platform to help us win until the end of the season.” We hope to gain this from the game.

“This is the truth. We must acknowledge that the Premier League and all of its opponents are extremely difficult.

“It is not always possible to perform better than your opponent. Sometimes you have to recognise your opponent is better than you.

“At the end of the game, we want to claim that we played well against Arsenal and that we were stronger than them. For us, that would be advantageous.

“This is what we’re thinking about as we pursue the next game. We must pursue everything from the beginning, even though we know it will be difficult. No matter where you are in the Premier League, it is extremely difficult to earn any points.
