The Cincinnati Bengals are looking to get back to the playoffs after a two-year drought. Star quarterback Joe Burrrow turned in arguably the best season of his career in 2024, but it still wasn’t enough.
The Bengals know that if they want to turn things around, they must ensure that Burrow continues to be surrounded by the right weapons. As such, they made a crucial signing, according to one prominent league insider.
According to a source, the Bengals are re-signing running back Samaje Perine to a two-year contract worth up to $3.8 million, as reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
On social media, fans responded to the news.

The Chiefs didn’t employ him more frequently in the pass game, which is kind of a bummer. Other than being hurt every time he plays, I’m not sure what Mitchell contributes. If Mitchell is hurt, bring back Hunt and select a running back so that the rookie can take his place,” a Kansas City Chiefs supporter tweeted on Twitter.
“This is actually GREAT news for those who own Chase Brown in fantasy football!” one fan added.
“What a terrible move. Waste of money,” another fan added.
“No moves I really love so far, but I have liked almost every signing they’ve done so far. It’s been a vibes first kind of off season, and while I need them to be better at getting legit upgrade talent, this helps distract me from the other incompetence we’ve seen lately,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see what else the Bengals do in the offseason.
