The current list of Cardiff City’s five injured players along with when they should be back

The Bluebirds have already seen some early-season injury setbacks this season.

Cardiff City has not had a good start to the season due to injuries. Some players will still be unavailable for their club when the Bluebirds return from their second international break this season. Bluebirds manager Erol Bulut has had to adjust players’ workloads in specific positions.

Thankfully, Josh Bowler and Callum Robinson have both returned to full fitness in recent weeks, which will strengthen Cardiff’s offensive lineup. Register here to have the most recent Bluebirds news delivered directly to your email.

Nonetheless, Bulut will be closely monitoring the players’ recuperations in the upcoming weeks and months as some of them are still on the treatment table. We examine each player and their anticipated comeback dates here.

The forward’s time in the capital of Wales has not been smooth. He has demonstrated his abilities and the reasons Cardiff wanted to buy him in the summer. He exudes strength and provides a different kind of wide player than what City has available. In the upper part of the pitch, he undoubtedly provides them a muscular presence.

However, the Ivorian has had some fitness setbacks lately, so it was unrealistic to think he would emerge unhurt from another campaign. Just before the international break, he strained his hamstring, which is anticipated to keep him out for a few weeks more.

Return date anticipated: Stoke City (November 4) Potentially missed games include Bristol, Huddersfield Town, and Blackburn Rovers.

One more who was hurt by a hamstring injury soon before halftime while playing away at Middlesbrough. It’s unfortunate that Kion Etete’s prognosis is identical to Meite’s, since the striker looked to be

hitting his stride.

Considering how brilliantly he concluded the previous season, the striker appeared to be finding his feet again, scoring goals effortlessly and serving as a focal point up top despite having a rather terrible start to the season. However, it appears like he will miss a few more games, thus Ike Ugbo will probably play in a number of them unless Callum Robinson is selected ahead of him.

Return date anticipated: Stoke City (November 4). • Potentially missed games include Bristol City (h), Huddersfield Town (a), and Blackburn Rovers (a).

Callum O’Dowda is a significant departure that has gone somewhat unnoticed this season, mostly because of the team’s strong start in terms of results. However, Jamilu Collins deserves praise for his outstanding replacement of the Irishman.

O’Dowda had a terrible season last year, but he was metronomic and steady, so it was interesting to see how much he would flourish with the new group that was assembled this summer. But the wide player will be out for a considerable amount of time due to surgery that he had recently. If Bulut is to be believed, that will put him behind schedule by twelve weeks from the initial announcement. In the overall scheme of things, a significant chunk of the season has passed.

Aaron Ramsey, the captain of Wales, missed a few weeks of action due to a knee injury before the international break, despite having had an incredible start to his third season with the Bluebirds, registering six games, three goals, and a victory in the South Wales derby. A week ago, Bulut stated he would be sidelined for a further eight to ten weeks after Cardiff was given the whole rundown on the issue. (However, if he does need surgery, that would add another three months, so hopefully that doesn’t happen.)

However, Ramsey will still need to spend some time off the pitch as things stand. He was reportedly moving very easily considering his condition when he was observed during Wales’ 2-1 victory against Croatia at Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday.

Jamilu Collins has been forced to play practically every game despite having a year off thanks to O’Dowda’s injury issues. And he has really stood up to the task. He did suffer a knock in the win over Rotherham United at home at it rendered him unavailable for the Middlesbrough trip.

He did return to the starting lineup for the 1-1 draw with Watford, but Bulut warned that an injury wasn’t too far away. As a result he was pulled from the Nigeria squad for this international break as a precaution. Provided he has rested up for two weeks, there is hope that it was only a precaution and he will be in the fold for the Blackburn game next week.
