journalist give new details on Leeds united director of football assumption.

Journalist Adam Pope of BBC Radio Leeds claims that Leeds United will not be appointing a director of football along the lines of Victor Orta.

Since Orta left Elland Road by mutual consent in May, Leeds has been without a permanent transfer chief.

Over the summer, Nick Hammond became an interim football advisor, but it’s still unclear who will take Orta’s place in the Elland Road boardroom long-term.

Although Stuart Webber has been connected to the West Yorkshire position since leaving his position at Norwich in the summer, LeedsLive stated on October 17 that it is doubtful that he will be employed.

Pope claims that the presumptions made regarding Webber were incorrect while discussing the behind-the-scenes improvements at Elland Road since the conclusion of the previous season.

According to a video clip posted on Twitter on Wednesday, October 18, Pope told BBC Sport West Yorkshire, “It was [a temporary situation] with Nick Hammond, who’d come in to sort the transfer window out.”

Naturally, Gretar Steinsson, who previously worked for Fleetwood and Spurs, joined the backroom crew. Adam Underwood, the head of the academy and currently the head of football operations, also had a change in role.

There were minor adjustments made. Farke clearly had the last word when it came to players, so I would say that it was more collaborative.

“But the idea was that somebody else would enter, and everyone would assume that it would be Stuart Webber, not Victor Orta-type, not the lightning rod that was Victor Orta.”

From what we’ve seen so far this summer, Leeds’ recruitment team is operating effectively in the absence of a director of footbal

Although Hammond was always only going to be a stopgap solution, has he not done enough to indicate that he might be a long-term contender for the position?

Depending on his preferences, but judging by the success of players like Joel Piroe, Joe Rodon, and Ethan Ampadu, as well as the coups for Djed Spence and Glen Kamara, it appears that he might be the right person for the position.

The summer exits were virtually exclusively the product of the previous government.

Loan after loan was approved, but the present employees of Leeds had little say in the matter.

Although Hammonds hasn’t performed well in his previous roles—mostly at West Brom and Celtic—he has demonstrated that he may have gained insight from his experiences in Glasgow and the West Midlands to be a valuable addition to Leeds in West Yorkshire.
