26-year-old provides update Charlton Athletic’s clash against Reading”

Michael Appleton, the manager of Charlton Athletic, acknowledged that Panutche Camara’s return this weekend might be too soon.

After the international break, Charlton Athletic is back in League One play. At The Valley, they are facing Reading.

During the most recent transfer window, 26-year-old Camara from Ipswich Town joined the Addicks on loan. He hasn’t been doing anything lately.

According to the official club website, Appleton has given an update on the midfielder’s injury: “Saturday has come around really quickly for him so that might be too much.” He has demonstrated his ability and what he can add to the team as and when we feel is the correct time during the previous three or four days, working with the players, for sure.

In order to prevent things from getting worse, Charlton won’t want to take any chances with Camara. They will benefit much when he eventually returns to full fitness.

He gives their midfield division greater depth and competition. The four-cap international from Guinea-Bissau might perhaps feel he needs to make a statement after finding it difficult to establish himself in Ipswich’s lineup the previous season.

After moving from Crawley Town to Plymouth Argyle in 2020, Camara was a vital member of the team. A year ago, he was acquired by Ipswich from the Pilgrims after he participated in 94 games across all competitions and scored 10 goals.

The player who had previously played for Crawley Town and Dulwich Hamlet was a member of Kieran McKenna’s team that was promoted from the third tier in the last campaign. However, he only managed to play four times for the Tractor Boys, hence why he was allowed to depart in the summer.

Following Dean Holden’s departure last month, Charlton turned to Appleton, and in their most recent game, they drew 2-2 at home against Blackpool. They are now five points outside of the playoffs.
