Leyton Orient will be forced to wear their away kit for tomorrow’s game against Barnsley despite playing at home.

Orient – who were promoted as League Two champions last season – host the third placed Tykes at Brisbane Road on Saturday hoping to keep up their recent form that has seen them rise to 10th.

However, despite expecting to wear their usual red strip due to being at home, Richie Wellens’ side will bizarrely be donning their white away kit.

It comes because Barnsley also play in red along with the fact that their white away kit is currently unavailable due to the team bus catching fire a fortnight ago.

This was following a late win away at Exeter when footage shared online by defender Barry Cotter showed their coach on fire at the side of the M5 just south of Cheltenham.

‘All players and staff on board were evacuated safely. Everyone is in good health. We would like to thank the emergency services for their swift response.

‘The club will make no further comment at this time and is focused on ensuring the safe return of staff and players.’

At the time, National Highways South-West confirmed an incident on the M5 northbound. They posted: ‘The #M5 northbound is closed between J12 & J11 near #Gloucester #Cheltenham due to a coach fire within J11A.

‘Traffic is also currently held southbound between J11 & J11A while the fire is brought under control.’

Despite the Orient clash being Barnsley’s first game since John McAtee’s late winner against the Grecians two weeks ago, their away kit is still unavailable to use.

Both teams come into the match on the back of consecutive league wins and will hope to keep up their good form in east London.
