Using Football Manager 2024, we projected three years ahead of time to see how the Premier League team was doing and who they had signed.

Early access to Football Manager 2024 is now available on Steam, and players of the well-liked game are already getting into the most recent version.

The series, which is already more than 30 years old, allows players to take control of their favourite clubs and try to lead them to previously unheard-of levels of success thanks to an amazing global database of clubs, players, and staff. We used the new game to simulate three years in the future and see how Premier League clubs and teams throughout the globe had fared. This was just for fun.

In our simulation, the Aston Villa starting lineup at the end of the summer transfer window in 2026 looked like this:

1. Emiliano Martinez, the GK
34-year-old still the team’s first choice, with Filip Marschall and Oliwier Zych filling in as backups

2. Djed Spence of RB
After stints on loan from Spurs to Rennes, Leeds, and Benfica before Villa signed him in 2025 on a loan and paid £11.75 million to make the transfer permanent.

3. Marco Friedl, LB
The Austrian international played with SV Werder for seven seasons before Villa acquired his services in the summer of 2026 for £15.75 million.

4. Pau Torres, CB
In his first three years at Villa Park, he hardly missed a match and frequently won MotM accolades, although he only managed one goal.
