1964: The Braves Board of Directors decides to request permission from the National League to relocate to Atlanta, after the team had only played in Milwaukee for 11 years. To stop the relocation, Milwaukee County officials filed a lawsuit.
1996: In Game 2 of the World Series, the Atlanta Braves defeat the New York Yankees 4-0 thanks to three runs scored by Fred McGriff and six hits allowed by Greg Maddux in eight innings of work.
2001 saw Randy Johnson and the Arizona Diamondbacks win the National League Championship Series and advance to their first-ever World Series with a 3-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves. 2021 – The Dodgers defeat the Braves 11-2 in Game 5 of the NLCS to maintain their playoff hopes. The Braves lead 2-0 in the first inning because to a home run by Freddie Freeman off of Joe Kelly, but the Dodgers take a 2-0 lead in the second inning thanks to home runs by A.J.
Pollock and Chris Taylor off of Max Fried. Later on, Taylor will smash three long balls and Pollock will hit another one, together accounting for 10 of the 11 runs scored.
1959: The Players Association accepts the scheduling of two All-Star Games for 1960, to be played at Yankee Stadium in New York and Municipal Stadium in Kansas City.

2007: In Game 7 of the ALCS, the Boston Red Sox upset Cleveland 11-2 to advance to the World Series, where they will take on the Colorado Rockies. They had fallen down Cleveland 3-1 before overcoming the deficit. After winning the Series’ first two games and its fifth, Josh Beckett earns the ALCS MVP. Paul Byrd of the Indians admitted to using human growth hormone for four years before to the game, sparking a media frenzy.
Byrd claims that after Major League Baseball outlawed it, he stopped purchasing it and that he had authorization from a doctor to use it for pituitary gland treatment.
2014: The Giants defeat the Royals 7-1 in Game 1 of the World Series. A three-run first inning is fueled by a two-run home run by Hunter Pence off James Shields, and Madison Bumgarner allows only one run on three hits in seven innings. Since the 1985 World Series, Kansas City has won 11 straight postseason games before this setback.
