After his early opening, Mads Frøkjaer thought Preston North End might have ended the match early in their 1-1 draw with Millwall.
Prior to Mads’ goal in the third minute, Duane Holmes had a chance in the first minute but missed it by a mere inch.
Bartosz Białkowski then denied the American international.
PNE was leading, but Zian Flemming’s goal at the half-hour mark pulled the visiting Lions even, and the visitors started to factor into the game in the last minutes of the first half.
“To be fair, I think we played to [deserve] more than one point, but in the end, I think we didn’t create enough big chances,” Mads stated.
If we had scored to make it 2-0 prior to their goal, we might have easily ended the match early.
“Although it’s a little annoying at the moment, I think we played well—we were aggressive, played high up the pitch, and had some more quality chances that we could have had.”

It originated from defender Jordan Storey’s daring dash forward, which located Will Keane nearby. Keane then placed it at the feet of North End’s number ten.
Mads made a joke:
“I don’tI believe Keano intended to ignore me, but he really ought to have!
It’s just a pass into the goal, so I’m glad he didn’t try to turn around and fire with his left.
“I’m always happy when I can help the team with a goal or an assist.
“Three minutes in I thought it would be a crazy good day but in the end it was only one goal and one point so not the best day, but we’ll take it and move forward.”
The draw against Millwall was the first game back after the international break, which probably came at a good time for Ryan Lowe’s side who had a difficult week of three defeats.
Mads was of the opinion they could have taken three points against the London side at Deepdale, but nevertheless was pleased to halt the run of losses.
It’s one of those games where we look at each other and think, ‘We should have won,'” he remarked.
“We ought to have won this game, but it is what it is.”
“After a challenging week leading up to the international break, we’re happy to get one point and get back on track. Hopefully, we’ll get more points on Wednesday.”
