Al-Ettifaq have already persuaded Everton striker takeover”

Sources: Everton fear Calvert-Lewin could quit due to takeover

As their takeover uncertainty persists, Everton is worried about Al-Ettifaq’s purported interest in Dominic Calvert-Lewin, sources have told Football Insider.

According to recent speculations, Steven Gerrard’s team is expected to make a January raid for the 26-year-old forward.

Though it’s thought Everton has no intention of losing Calvert-Lewin in the near future, they might be forced to make a move if the 777 Partners deal falls through.

Football Insider has learned from a reliable source that he is seen as a major player for the future and an important member of Sean Dyche’s staff.

Four former Premier League players, notably Demerai Grey of Everton and Jordan Henderson of Liverpool, have already been convinced to go to Saudi Arabia by Gerrard and Al-Ettifaq.

The legendary Reds player may now use the uncertainty surrounding the takeover at Goodison Park to his advantage and land his next target.

The procedure has come to a standstill due to the failure of US investment group 777 Partners to furnish British regulators with the necessary financial data, as stated by the New York Times on October 18.

After battling injuries early in the new season, Calvert-Lewin has started the last three Premier League games.

With a contract expiring in June 2025, the Sheffield United academy product has made seven appearances so far this season and has scored three goals.

He only made 17 appearances the previous season due to injuries that again prevented him from playing a significant role in Everton’s relegation struggle.

Calvert-Lewin joined the Toffees in 2016, and in 216 games overall, he has scored 63 goals.

In his 11 England caps, he has also managed four goals, however his last game for the Three Lions was in 2021.

In other news, Everton is planning to sign a sensational midfield player.
