Long Shot Kick De Bucket”

Alphonse Areola grabbed the ball near the end of Hammers’ awful display against the relegation-threatened Everton and proceeded to’sprint’ in the direction of the opponents. “Shoot” was the cry coming from the audience, and it wasn’t ironic! Areola is capable of throwing the ball correctly to the halfway line in addition to his extremely powerful kick; if he had taken a shot, he might have been able to catch Pickford off guard and score.

The ‘Inept’ brigade he was playing with had an equal chance of scoring as he did! The coaching staff must have thought that long shots could be a method to penetrate a “resilient” Everton defence, given how dreadfully they had failed to create ANY shots on goal until late in the game.

Unfortunately, Edson Alvarez, who DOES have a shot like a mule—he can’t hit a barn door with a banjo, but at least he tried—was the winner of the only two times someone tried the ball! How come some of the other players were unable to “have a go”? Were they concerned about the response from the crowd should their shot land in row Z, or row zxl in the dome’s case)?

Well the crowd weren’t exactly overjoyed with the ‘David Moyes Experience’ so a few misplaced shots would hardly have been noticed as was attested to by the Universal boos that rang out at the end of the game.

Otherwise, the “easy” games where points may have been earned would run out, creating the possibility of yet another relegation battle. Something has to change. Hammers’ chances of winning the League Cup or the Europa League this time around are quite slim.

Time is ‘a changing’ soon, hopefully! Tim Steidten has a manager in mind already, someone who works in the new millennium, not the old one! Long shot, why not kick the bucket? The ball could strike Moyes instead and give him a mental shock if it misses! An LN
