Nottingham Forest next target on 29-year-old captain.

Ahead of the January transfer window, defender David Garcia is still under consideration by Nottingham Forest. In an attempt to get a new centre defender, the Reds attempted to recruit the Osasuna star.

During the mid-season window, Forest plans to launch another assault on the transfer market. Estadio Deportivo claims that Forest is still fond of Garcia and is keeping a close eye on him.

In order to strengthen their centre defensive ranks this summer, the Reds did sign Murillo. Additionally, the club successfully negotiated a deal for Andrew Omobamidele with just hours left in the transfer window.

Forest is still focusing on Garcia, the Osasuna defender.
This one does appear to be rather interesting. Forest made an offer for Garcia in the summer, but the club was so enraged by the offer that they didn’t even respond to Forest.

Since the 29-year-old has spent his whole career at Osasuna, leaving would not be a move that is made lightly. He has made 12 appearances this season and currently serves as the team captain.

Forest-related Garcia assisted the La Liga team in last season’s European qualification. But that hope was dashed this season as Club Brugge defeated Osasuna in two legs.

This would appear to be a really odd signing. Even if 29 isn’t too old, the club can’t truly develop and likely turn a profit on a player of Murillo’s calibre.

According to reports earlier this week, Garcia isn’t the right-sided Murillo that Forest actually wanted. Despite being right-footed, the player isn’t quite the unwavering presence that the Brazilian has shown since joining.

Garcia’s present team appears to desire a big transfer price, therefore it might not be worth Forest’s while to pursue a deal for the midfielder.
