Ongoing Aston Villa agreement continues to work wonders for Plymouth Argyle: view

The 23-year-old can help teammates in a range of offensive situations and score goals in a variety of ways.

  •  Plymouth Argyle’s recent win over Sheffield Wednesday suggests they have what it takes to stay in the Championship.
  •  Finn Azaz, on loan from Aston Villa, has been a key player for Argyle with impressive goal-scoring and assist stats.
  •  Argyle should consider making a permanent offer for Azaz, as he may struggle to find a spot in Villa’s midfield.

Plymouth Argyle have taken reasonably well to Championship life following last season’s promotion from League One.

The Pilgrims’ latest indication that they might have what it takes to stay in the second division is their 3-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, a team that was also promoted.

But, Plymouth’s resolve will be put to the test when they visit Leeds United, who are currently in second place, on Saturday.

Argyle leads all scorers in the bottom half of the Championship with 26, tied with Norwich City.

Championship Table (As it stands November 6th)

Finn Azaz, an attacking midfielder for the Pilgrims, is one player who has been crucial to their recent success.

The Villa player first came to Argyle during the 2022 summer.

His efforts during the previous season guided the team to the League One championship.

During his brief tenure with the Pilgrims, Azaz scored eight goals and provided eight assists, accumulating an outstanding total.

The 23-year-old can help teammates in a range of offensive situations and score goals in a variety of ways.

His Fotmob statistics paint a very clear picture of just how good Azaz is.

He was able to exceed both his expected assists rate of 5.1 and his expected goals rate of 4.3 last campaign while also creating 57 chances.

This season, Azaz has so far manage to outscore his expected goals number once again as two of his three strikes this season have come from outside the box.

Despite playing in a higher division, he has already generated 33 chances in 15 appearances, so he is on track to surpass his total from the previous season.

This is a credit to both manager Steven Schumacher’s coaching and the progress Azaz has made in his own game during his time at Argyle thus far.

Thus far, everything has gone as smoothly as possible for all three parties involved in the Azaz loan agreement between Aston Villa and the Pilgrims.

According to statistics, the child keeps getting better while attending Argyle.

In the meantime, Argyle is benefiting from having such a talented group on their team.

In a good way, Azaz is frequently the driving force behind everything Plymouth does.

By the end of his loan, Villa might have a fantastic player at their disposal.

At the end of the current campaign, the attacking midfielder is expected to return to Villa Park.

Unai Emery might decide to bring back his youthful talent, though, or Argyle might make a permanent offer.

Should Argyle make a swoop in January?

It’s something they should at least consider.

Azaz has been a key player for Schumacher’s side ever since his arrival at the club.

Although he is clearly highly talented, he may not be able to find a spot in the Villa team.

The Villans are not exactly struggling in the department of midfielders who have an eye for goal.

John McGinn continues to be a key figure for the side he captains meanwhile Youri Tielemans can barely get a look in despite the fact that both Jacob Ramsey and former Norwich man Emiliano Buendia are currently injured.

Perhaps Azaz would be better off if he left Villa Park permanently.

Former Championship hotshot Cameron Archer is getting the game time he deserves after leaving the Midlands club so perhaps Azaz should follow suit.
