The most recent transfer news regarding Nottingham Forest as Steve Cooper’s Reds prepare for the January window.
Marcos Leonardo, a striker for Santos, is apparently still on Nottingham Forest’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old was linked to the Reds during the summer as they sought to increase their options for attacking play. It appears that they are still keeping an eye on his circumstances.
Brazil’s Vamo Flamengo website claims that Forest had the player watch earlier this week. Two scouts are rumored to have watched Santos and Cuiaba play to a scoreless draw, in which Leonardo participated for the entire ninety minutes.
Leonardo is reportedly one of the valuable assets that Santos may have to sell in January. In light of this, the young Brazilian would attract a lot of competition for the Reds.
Flamengo, who previously witnessed a deal for the forward collapse, are reportedly still keeping an eye on him. Santos is rumored to have received contact from Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion regarding a possible January transfer, in addition to Newcastle United.
In recent windows, Forest has made good use of the South American market, and at the City Ground, they already have a sizable Brazilian contingent. According to reports from the nation, they intend to bolster that group with the addition of Fluminense defender Nino during the winter window.
The Reds may decide to bolster their front line. They already have Chris Wood, Divock Origi, and Taiwo Awoniyi on their roster, but all three have experienced injury issues thus far this season, with Awoniyi’s absence being particularly felt.
