bills fire Browns as offensive coordinator, hire Joe Brady as interim

Columbus, Ohio — The offensive coordinator for the Bills will be replaced following yet another offensive failure against the Broncos on Monday night.

Joe Brady was elevated to the position of temporary offensive coordinator, while Buffalo announced on Tuesday that it had sacked offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, a quarterback for the Browns from 2006 to 2008.

In 2022, Dorsey was appointed offensive coordinator by the Bills following the hiring of Brian Daboll as head coach by the Giants. The Bills are 5-5 following Monday night’s surprise 24-22 home defeat to the Broncos, despite being in the top 10 in the NFL in most offensive statistics, such as scoring (eighth), yards (seventh), and passing yards (seventh). Since scoring 48 points against the Dolphins in Week 4, the Bills have not scored 30 points in a single game.

Has Kevin Stefanski’s tenure as the Browns’ coach been his greatest to date?

Turnovers have been one of the Bills’ biggest issues. They are only one game behind the Browns for the most in the NFL this season with 18.

Josh Allen, the quarterback, has been a major contributor to this issue, with a league-high 11 interceptions. Jordan Love of the Packers and Mac Jones of the Patriots are the only other quarterbacks with double digits.

Since 2022, Brady has served as the quarterbacks coach for the Bills. The reason he is most well-known is that in 2019, while serving as LSU’s offensive coordinator, he assisted Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, and the Tigers in winning a national title, going undefeated, and becoming one of the greatest offensive teams in college football history.

While serving as the offensive coordinator for the Panthers in 2021 and 2022, his teams’ scoring offence results were outside the top 20 in both years.

Three teams, including the Bills, are a half game behind the 5-4 Texans for the last AFC playoff place. The Texans now hold a postseason place, since they defeated the Bengals 30-27 on Sunday, despite the fact that the Bengals are also 5-4.
