Police have announced that a 22-year-old man tragically died after being hit by an HGV on the A55 near Chester. The man’s tragic death was confirmed today, September 20, following the fatal collision that occurred on Friday, September 20, at approximately 11 a.m.
After the incident, Cheshire Police are currently looking for witnesses. According to Cheshire Live, it happened on the eastbound carriageway at Huntington, heading toward Liverpool. While emergency personnel worked at the incident, the road was stopped for many hours.
The pedestrian, a 22-year-old man, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Police investigating the collision are appealing for witnesses, dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident to come forward to help with their enquiries into the circumstances.
Inspector Steve Griffiths said: “The A55 and surrounding areas will have been busy at the time of the collision, so we are urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward to assist us in establishing exactly what happened.
