What the manager said after the victory

“It was a tough game,” Aberdeen manager Barry Robson said on BBC Sportsound. Half of it was evenly matched. We were slow to start in the second half. They had a good start, and then there was the farewell. Bojan Miovski had the opportunity to score three goals.

“For me, the most important aspect was our tactical approach. Nine days and four games later. We couldn’t pursue them as we would have liked because we had one less day of sleep than they had. We needed to be astute tactically, and I felt they were.

“We had a man sent off and were thinking ‘this will be tough’. But when you have someone like Bojan, who has the speed to open them up… thankfully he did and he could have had another couple.

“It’s character. For me, the hardest part is coming off the back of big European nights and we’ve struggled in the league games. In those big games, we’ve performed really well. We’re playing huge clubs and we’ve been caught a few times. Tonight, we got our rewards because we’ve been brilliant in these big games.

“I’m so pleased for my players. The will, the spirit they showed, that’s proper Aberdeen players that. Jack got a cuddle, it could’ve been different if we lost the game!”
