Next week, there will be significant delays for drivers on the A90 in Aberdeenshire due to the installation of new speed cameras at a busy intersection.
At Toll of Birness, where the A90 splits to Peterhead and the A952 north towards Fraserburgh, the cameras are scheduled to be installed.
There have been requests to install the soon-to-be installed safety cameras at the intersection because it has become a well-known accident hotspot in recent years, with several of them being fatal.
Drivers will be told to take the A90T, the A950 at Mintlaw, and the A952 in the direction of Fraserburgh.
The Aberdeenshire Council is alerting drivers to the impending construction by closing the road starting on Monday, July 22, and keeping it closed for an additional four days.
The council issued the following statement: “Drivers should be advised that the A952 northbound at the Toll of Birness will be closed for four days starting on Monday, July 22, due to the installation of speed camera units.
“Peterhead, A950 (Mintlaw), and A952 (Toll of Birness) are the official diversion routes because a diversion must lead to roads of the same class as the road that is closed.
