AC Milan have been dealing with many injuries since the start of the season and a solution must be found. Seeing as it’s not the first year with similar struggles, the Rossoneri should consider sacking their Head of Medical.
Milan has had more than 20 injuries this season, and their numerous absences are having an impact on the team. Two more injuries were added to the list during yesterday’s match against Lecce as Davide Calabria and Rafael Leao were substituted out.
This is nothing new, as was indicated at the beginning, and Milan has faced difficulties with it in recent years. But this time around, the problem has been much more obvious. It will be necessary to conduct thorough assessments during the international break.
As stated earlier today by Calciomercato.com, Pioli and his team will take the break to thoroughly analyze the problem. They will review the actions taken during the 30-day period and identify the strategies that have and have not benefited the players.
If, however, it persists after the break, Milan might want to think about firing Head of Medical Stefano Mazzoni. In that regard, Real Madrid serves as an example, having just fired their star player Niko Mihic after six years with the team.
Marca claimed that Arda Guler’s (associated with Milan) muscle ailments were the straw that broke the camel’s back. The decision was made because the Turkish wonderkid wasn’t the only player at the club experiencing muscular problems in recent years.
Mazzoni has been at Milan since 2011 and was promoted to his current position in the summer of 2016.
